Back and re engerized! Had a great weekend up north (Michigan) Theresa and I are seriously considering buying some land up there for future retierment. The Fall colors were just awesome - and as usual the local music store sucked! Makes one think ![]() Lance |

Welcome Back Lance I have never been to Michigan, but have been to New Hampshire, Vermont, Main and Mas, during the fall three times and the colours just blew me away, mind you I don't fancy their winters. |

Granted I'm biased as well, but I wouldn't live anywhere else! The colors, the shoreline, and of course, the hourly variance in the weather. ![]() ![]() |

I went on a cherry production tour to Traverse City and loved the area. My wife made a business trip there shortly thereafter and also fell in love with it. The folks she talked to said there is a fairly large luthier community in the area. We may decide to retire that direction as well. My Texas ancestors are probably now spinning in their graves ![]() |

I live up here in Traverse and it is Gods country! I am not aware of many luthiers around here though. I am mostly making violin family instruments but love guitars. Look me up of anyone comes up for a visit. |

Hi Ken - We love Traverse City - my wife and I have been going up there every year for the last 22 years - Many years ago I use to play at a club across the steet from the Grand Traverse Hotel called The Tons Haus. Lots have changed since then! Love the Pot Pies at Le Ameica (sp) down town -- Lance |

My wife and I also feel a strong affinity for the Traverse area. I personally would love to retire up there someday! ![]() |

I have very close ties with Travers City. Lots of family in Acme (that’s just north) and my cousin Kelly Galloup had a fly fishing shop called the Troutsman for years. This is a successful day in Travers, wake up to a round of gulf at the Bear, kick back with a few beers at the Grand Travers Resort, walk around down town and eat some fudge then go out to dinner at either Poppycock’s or Cafe Amical. That sound so good I think I’ll go back up there soon, except I’ll have to trade the gulf for skiing. The top Luthier in that area is Dan Kelchack who is located in the Interlocken area. Great repairperson and a killer player too. |

I have rolled out of bead on a Sunday morning and on the spot, decided to make the hour and half drive to have one of those pot pies and a cup of the tomato bisque soup. Those pies are so not good for you. Dark meat, whole cream with filo doe topped with butter….mmmmmm. |

Brian, If TC is so close to you, I wonder if I could come to your place for a class in fretting. My fret ends are popping up and making me mad. I'll bring you a pot pie or some fudge. ![]() |
